Learning and Buttering - It's better to butter a teacher than your crush.

The world where we are living is full of diversity if we look to norms, values, nurture, culture, and also ideas from where we develop our life and practices. In our education system, as much I experienced and observed around the world where mostly in the universities, professors are really open to students, and some closely develop links with them. Sometimes, the instructors are really strict but mostly students understand their behavior and they develop good links with them. But the relation of student and teacher, when we sit in friends-zone we mostly discuss it in some other ways with the different terminologies, which will be in your mind as you can relate too sometimes you say it to others or you have to listen to it. Around the world, students are the same and there are a huge number of students who enjoy their life but country to country it varies; like in South Asian countries there is no need of specific “Saturday night” to party, every day is for outing or party, etc. and we love such consistencies in our student life and I am one of them too… I love to spend more time in the garden, holding someone’s hand than sitting in the classroom and seeing that old teacher with a bald head with passing vulgar comments on them. I wish good luck to me that one day I might be something after wasting my time and disrespecting the efforts of the teachers and parents (let’s talk about this, don’t judge me here, the blog is continued..).

While in general around the world, students are lazy, fun-loving, and do not love their academic routines in the majority but somehow they build their professional life through self-realization and some economical pressures (it’s my personal experience in which you can have a different point of view).

Though, that day, I was coming out of an Instructor’s cabin; as she is really kind and helpful, also I give her my work for reviewing as her comments always make my work better, so some mates were passing from there and commented with the loud laugh on me “YAAR MAKHAN LAGANA BAND KER” (stop buttering or flattering). The same case occurred that once I was sitting with a teacher and we were talking normally, so later on, I received a text message from a friend with a really disgusting comment which was pointing me out with the image of being a culprit and making something odd. Those are my good friends and I love them all. But, why is it so offensive in our surroundings like making a link with a teacher? It is made to be a really bad thing and most o the students say it proudly that I don’t go to the teachers and I don’t care about them. We feel proud to be rude with our teachers and when someone gives an ill reply or make fun of a teacher, that day, we consider him or her a hero and that would be a party day for the whole class... Yeah!!!!

Why we behave like this? I am also an Instructor and serving in different religious institutes and personal development training institutes. I want to share what actually a teacher feels for the learner and students. Most of the teachers are really enthusiastic and want to deliver what they have, but most of the students never take advantage of their efforts because they don’t develop a learning attitude. I will say make every moment in your university as learning of your life (personal and professional), later on, you will see a lot of things becomes easier for the lifetime and your time won’t be wasted; it will help you to write a guide diary for your children or family to contribute well to the upcoming generation.

Being in the profession of teaching and training when I prepare lectures, I know a lot of things and I am teaching or dealing with those subjects when I was 12 years old. Now I am 24 and I have a good command of them (its what happened due to having a close relationship with the teachers) but still, I try to find something new for my students and about 2-3 hours I spend on each subject. When I go to class and see every student standing, which makes me feel good, never means that I love protocol but I love to see everybody is in there and backbenches are also there who makes class interesting. While when the students don’t stand on my entrance, it doesn’t affect me however I cannot count on them because they are invisible under the dust of ego and disrespect (not to me but to the knowledge). When I stand up and start my lecture, I try to put every point and demonstrate the things, still, I have heard many of the students say that the teacher cannot explain well and they don’t know anything. Actually, you are mistaken, we all are human and we are lacking somewhere and our student life is upgrading our level, and the teacher is teaching you to get on that level so you could compete for the world; the experience he has is beyond yours in which you can at least try to avail the opportunity to boost your level and if you are not getting it, try to ask questions!

Also when I end up the lecture, I feel great if any student asks a question whether asked with good or bad intention and I answer them according to what they ask without any offense. I love students coming to me in private times or approaching me by mail, social media, or contact number. I must tell you that the teacher loves to teach you, they are good in their field and they can earn double in their career but they give up their career for your careers. Besides becoming the king they become a ‘King Maker.’

There is no teacher who loves their student due to the student’s buttering; do not hesitate from the friend groups for going to the teachers and learn something from them because your friends will not be there to guide you professionally but of course your teacher will be your reference for the job and your competencies. Try to learn and make your time precious. If you can do buttering consider it as a skill and utilize it in a good manner; there is no objection for it but move on with it and go to a teacher, ask them a question, and even if you make insensible question I bet your teacher will make sense out of it and if you cannot do question you will be unable to answer later on when you will be asked questions in your personal and professional life.

Life is really short and we spend it in discussing with other peoples, leave them what they do just try to focus on yourself because you are in the same race. If someone is going and learning something do not break out their way even if you think its wrong try to teach them by your behavior, your actions, and your way of success approach, this is what friends actually do. These fun times, jokes, parties, and other stuff will not be measured by anyone even once in life you will hate them when you will realize it that the time is wasting you. I am not against doing them but I am against dominating such activities with your career developing phase. Love your life for the love of your future generation. I will end with:

“It is better to butter a teacher than your crush.”
